Can't View Source For Pages?

Sometimes I can't view the source from web pages on the web. I use IE 6 and WinXP Pro. Sometimes the "edit" button in IE is darkened out. Sometimes when I right click on a page and click "view source" nothing happens. I can go to a page and view the source, but when I go back it may or may not be viewable. What is going on?

Some websites make it harder to view the source code.

Two possible workarounds:

1. File > Save As and then open the HTML file offline.

2. Use Netscape. Netscape didn't buy into some of lame restrictions IE allows.
