can't view properties of network printer in ms word

the server com is using winxp pro, and it serves two other coms - one using winxp home and the other using win2k.

they have connected to the server's printer and have had the printer's driver installed apparently. however, when they try to print a ms word document and want to set the properties in the print dialog, the printer's properties dialog won't pop up. all they get is an error msg saying that the printer returned an error.

how do i resolve this?
