Ok, here's the deal, hopefully you guys can help me. I'll tell you what I did step by step. I had problems installing CLI on my computer. I tried following the instructions off the help site step by step. First I know that I have an account on seti, because I'm running GUI off my computer under the username Civic2oo1. What I did was create a folder under Program files Seti@home. I put the CLI.exe file there as well as setidriver.exe and the license. I followed the steps of what it said to do, modify the cache to 1, say no to hide, hit save config and transmit. Then it comes up with option 1 for new users and 2 for returning users. Since I have an account already up, I assumed that it would be 2. I registered under the email addy-Civic2oo1@hotmail.com (exactly like that). When I type in Civic2oo1@hotmail.com, it comes up with the message 'No Account with that email Address'. Because of this I'm stuck using the GUI, which isn't terrible on my PC, but it's crappy on my roommates (10 hours and only at 14%). If you can help me I appreciate it a lot.

Civic - if you still have the directory where your GUI was installed (eg., c:\Program Files\Setiblah..), then look for the file called "user_info.sah". This file has all your account info. If you copy that file into your Setidriver directory, it won't ask you to re-login again.

Is there a possibility its not connecting? With all the connection problems to berekely lately, it's a possibility.

sounds like a typo or a temporary connection problem to berkeley.

take poof's advice. search comp for user_info.sah and copy it to
the directory you were running the CLI.. next time you startup setidriver you should be good to go

if there's still a problem, then you narrow it down to it being a
connection problem

good luck Civic :)

I'm not sure but I think their system is case sensitive.
Be that as it may, if you do what poof said it will work.

Odd... I tried setting up SETI Driver using your account but I also get the "No account with ther address error". However, your account is clearly registered here. It's not a connection problem either, as I can set it up with my email address.

I guess you'll have to go with Poof's suggestion, copy your user_info.sah into each individual SETI Driver numbered folders. Follow these steps:

1) In your CLI folder, make sure you only have SETI Driver.exe, setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe

2) Launch SETI Driver.exe, set cache size to 1. It should create an empty folder called 1.

3) Now copy your user_info.sah from your GUI to this 1 folder.

4) Hit transmit.

The SETI data server at Berkeley drops connection a lot lately, so you might not be able to connect. Check here for the server status.

Good luck

Just tried that, and still comes up with no account with that email address. :disgust: Looks like I'm stuck with the GUI

Well, until you get the CLI running, some tips for speeding up the GUI:
Use the screensaver option to run the client, and set it to blank the screen. The pictures it shows while doing the calculations take up a lot of CPU power; using the Blank Screen option lets SETI@Home devote itself to processing the data itself.

Just checking, are you absolutely sure that Civic2oo1@hotmail.com is the exact address that you originally registered with?

Your SETI EMAIL is: civic2oo1@hotmail.com

Try that using the "little c".

If that doesn't work then the problem (most likely) is due to the communication clog we are having with Seti@Home right now. Try during the hours of 4:00 AM CDT to 8:00 AM CDT and you might have success then.

That is probably what is causing Jeff7 his problems also.
