I added a second PC to my setup so I'm running everything through a switchbox. My Intellimouse Optical now has to use the USB-PS2 adaptor to work with the switchbox. Now I notice that the machines don't recognize buttons 4 & 5.

Is there any way to get it to notice those buttons while plugging it in with PS2, or are those features available when I plug it into the USB port? The Intellimouse software doesn't specify.

~thx

They should work fine with the adapter (I'm using one right now). It's most likely the KVM switch that's giving you problems.

Edit: To clarify, the 4 & 5 buttons should work with the USB>PS/2 adapter plugged straight into the computer. That's how my Intellimouse is plugged in. The KVM switch probably has problems emulating those buttons - those things aren't foolproof to begin with.

Thanks, I'm thinking it is the older Cybex switchbox that I am using. I was so used to using those buttons as Forward and Backward in IE...plus the added convenience when playing cstrike :)

I've tried every setting on the PCs, and uninstalling-reinstalling doesn't change anything. I'll keep searching.
