cant use a microphone

hey i bought a gamming head which came with 2 jacks. a pink one for the microphone, and a black one for the headphone.
i have a sound blaster live 24 bit sound card btw.
anyway i look at my sound card and find no pink slot but the blue slot had a picture of a microphone on it. so i plug the pink jack into the blue slot and the black jack into the black slot. needless to say the headphones work but the microphone didnt. i did some research and found out that the blue slot is a "flexijack" and that i need to activate it to the microphone option. but i cannot find out how to do this. thanks for the help
 
oh hey forgot to mention i posted this on the sound blaster forums, and they said you need to download something called "creative audioHQ" so i looked for it on google.com and downloaded many things that said they contained it but none of them would install.
