Can't update UT version 4.00

Every time I try to update UT I get an error message indicating botpak.u is unexpected version and can't be upgraded. CD is orignal not a copy. Fresh install of 98. Any ideas?

 
Does it finish the patch or not? What version patch are you using?

I've put UT on a Win95 machine. That shouldn't be the issue.
 
Are you using one of those no-cd cracks? If so you have to put the original unrealtounament.exe file back in place before tring to use any of the patches.
Just something I read thought it might help
