I have an SB51G with BIOS version FB51S020 and am trying to update to the latest version, FB51S037.
I downloaded the new bin file and winflash.exe and installed WinFlash.
As the instructions state, I check off "DMI Area" and "Clear CMOS". When I select File -> Open... I get a prompt that says, "This BIOS No Support Windows mode!"
Funny, because the Shuttle website specifically states that I should use the WinFlash update option.
From the website:
So, since the Windows option isn't working I guess I'll do it the old fashion way, in DOS. But hold on, there is no place to download the DOS version of AWARD/Phoenix BIOS update utility... The website also specifically states that I need to download the BIOS update in ZIP format. Guess what? No ZIP formats are available. What the hell?
Anyone have any ideas?

From the website:
NOTE : Shuttle XPC can be flashed using the following methods.
Windows Flash: Use the AWARD/Phoenix WinFlash utility for flashing under a Windows environment. The utility is contained on your motherboard drivers CD and can also be downloaded from the following address (The download file with extension .zip can be extracted with Winzip program.)
AWARD/Phoenix BIOS: Refer to ftp://ftp.shuttle.com/BIOS/utility, for usage instructions.
DOS Flash: A BIOS can also be updated/ flashed under a PURE DOS environment.
To flash a BIOS under DOS, download the BIOS file from the Download pages or ftp://ftp.shuttle.com/ in zip format (the zip file will contain for example; fb51s034.bin and awdflash.exe.). Extract the file onto a bootable floppy disk or onto the hard drive. Restart the system with a bootable floppy disk or bootable CD into PURE DOS mode. At the DOS prompt, type awdflash fb51s034.bin. When the update is complete, restart and enter CMOS Setup Utility (hold down delete at start up). Select ?Load Optimized Defaults? then ?Save & Exit Setup?
