I moved a shortcut for a game to my taskbar but I cannot remove it from the task bar. When I right-click it, no menu pops up with with an option to unpin it as it does for the other icons.

Make sure you have windows to show hidden files.

Go to
Code:
Go to C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
Delete the launcher

Logout and login

(may have to reboot)

I tried that, but the broken shortcuts aren't in that directory.

Make sure the Taskbar is unlocked.

I am having the same issue, any fix yet? They are the same two Diablo III icons as well! Also the shortcuts work you just cant right click or remove them.....I'm assuming it has to do with the game but I don't see why......

EDIT: I found a fix! HERE and HERE

Worked like a charm, at first when I renamed the files it just re-downloaded them...... Then I just moved them out of the folder and it worked!

Here's what to do:

Go to C: \Program Files (x86)\Diablo III
Delete "Diablo III" and "Diablo III Launcher"
Left click the pinned icon on your task bar.
Choose "Delete"
Go to Recycle Bin and restore "Diablo III" and "Diablo III Launcher"

I'm just assuming the file you are trying unpin is Diablo III
If it isn't, same concept, different file.
