Can't uninstall Ubuntu 8.04

I used the option to install from Windows XP without creating a new partition and now that I want to uninstall it the uninstaller won't work. How irritating! :|
What now?

Q. How can I remove ubuntu when I no longer want it

A. Start the computer into Windows, and then go into "Add/Remove Programs" in "Control Panel". Select "Ubuntu Linux" and press remove. REMEMBER that this removes Ubuntu and any programs or documents you installed inside Ubuntu.

from here

If it won't work, I'd guess you're probably safe just deleting all the relevant files/folders, and then clearing out the entry from add/remove programs. I mean, it's a totally seperate operating system, so I don't see how it would affect windows in any way.
