cant underclock unlocked XP!!

i unlocked my XP1900 using an LCD bridge and its well done. (i think so - the computer boots normally...) once i get into the a7v333 bios under Advanced/CPU speed i get 2 options: manual/1600/1200. 1200 set mult to 12 and FSB to 100, 1600 set mult to 12 and FSB to 133, and manual lets me choose witch mult // fsb i want. Now comes the funny part: if i choose anything other than 12x the mobo goes like "system failure due to CPU OCing" and falls back to the BIOS! Even w/ 7x//100Mhz//mem 1-1. Vcore is at 1.75. i have Samsung RAM ddr333 cas2.5 but even if i set it to "optimal" 2,5 3 3 6 1t 4 and put to work at 100/133 it still falls back to bios! change it back to 12x and it runs smooth... i cant even put it at 100/8x/800!... i have my cpu unlocked right? i mean w/ the manual setting and everything. right now it running 100/12x...

I believe on the Asus mobo's, u have to turn off a feature called speed locking or something along the lines of not letting you overclocking. There should be an option in ur Bios. If not, disable halt on all errors and try that.

Hes probally right, I remember my Abit KT7A had a feature called "Speed Hold error", wouldn't let you overclock/underclock at all. Try disabling that, and that might help.
