can't swap processors

both my computers have abit bh-6 m/b's...............i removed the slot 1 PIII 500 that was damaged but ran fine if i underclocked it to 83fsb so it ran at 416mzh.........i brought my 850 PIII on a abit slocket card down stairs from my other computer and installed it and it get stuck during boot........check sum error.......

i put the 850 back upstairs it boots fine.........i put the 500 back in down stairs ..under clock it it runs fine........i'm using it right now to do this question on..........what would make these processors non swappable............the 500 will run upstairs too......i tried clear cmos downstairs but still no boot..........put the old 500 back in and she fires right up...............i tried my old PII 350 slot 1 downstairs and it fires right up ??........is there a setting i'm missing whan i move my slocket card down stairs........???

1. Both mobo running the SS bios ?
2. Do u clear the CMOS after installing the CPU ?

If not, u need to.

It could be the memory. If you are going up on the FSB speed from 83 to 100 then the memory could be whats not letting you run at 100FSB. To check this also swap out the CPUs
