Ok, so I had all those horrible issues with the SB live and my mobo. File corruption, staticy sound, crashes and so on. I got an Audigy, the file corruption is gone but the stability is horrible, i crash cosntantly with WinXP. When I went a few weeks without a sound card I didn't crash once with WinXP. I just recently got the Audigy and now I get the same thing over and over again whenever I am using sound on my PC, be it in MP3s or games. I get a weird distorted sound and it clicks and crap like that, at that point the computer freeezes and I ahve to pull the plug. I have all the latest drivers, 4in1s and all that crap. I have tried all sorts of configurations on the IDE channels with my 2 hard drives, having them on seperate channels, having them on the same, having them on the raid controllers and the normal ones, nothing works. Any ideas?

Also, do the new Kt266A motherboard, especially the MSI one support SD ram as well as DDR? Or can they only use DDR?

I just noticed that both my HPT ata100/raid and audigy are using IRQ 7, could this ahve somethoing to do with it? I'll try switching the PCI slot and see.

Ok, this is weird.
I change the port of my sound card, its irq changes from 5, to 7.

then i check my irq of the hpt controller, it should still be 7 right? now it is 5, what the hell!

You can only use DDR ram for that board as for your Audigy it sounds like a IRQ problem since all the Audigy reviews I`ve read had no compatiability problems with Audigy and Via boards in testing .

Ok, well then, how do I get it so they are not using the same IRQs? Switching the PCI slot didn't. The HTP changes to whatever the Audigy changes to.

Ok, I read it, still says nothing about my problem as to how I can get it to my HPT and sound card don't shrae the same IRQ.

You might try freeing up some IRQ's by going into your BIOS and disabling both COM ports. Also, using a USB mouse instead of a PS1 mouse will free up an IRQ. Disabling all power management (ACPI and APM) can free up an IRQ.
