I have a year old Toro self-driven lawn mower. Worked great for the first year. I've been having trouble getting it to start this summer.

I took it to a guy who supposedly knows about small engines and he flushed the carb. It ran great at his place. I took it back to my place, it ran great and I mowed the lawn. It wouldn't start the next weekend, so I cleaned the carb myself and it ran great again. It's now this weekend and it won't start again.

The air filter is a month old. The spark plug is in good condition. The gas line was flushed with clean gas. The gas tank was rinsed out with clean gas. It has brand new gas in the fuel tank. For some reason the carb keeps getting clogged after only about 15 minutes of use.

What the heck is going on? I'm getting really close to buying a new lawn mower.

Year old?, should be under warranty. Pull the plug after the start attempt and see if it's got any gas on it, if it does you might have an intermittent electrical problem, while the plug is out ground it to the engine body (the outside of the plug. not the electrode) and check for proper spark..

My girlfriend's Toro is probably about a couple years old or so, and I either have to pull the starter 10+ times to get it started, or use starting fluid. A primer would probably keep that from happening. I'll check some of these suggestions this weekend.
