I was planning on starting one there this fall, but let me get this straight: because of the new online sales tax in Cali, if we're based there we're gonna have to charge sales tax on all the sales? Is that right? Does it really apply if we're only selling coupons though, and people are paying tax for them when they redeem them?

I read the bill. It says it applies to sellers of "tangible personal property" only, which I assume coupons are not... However, what if they're printed - doesn't that make them tangible?

Seems like it to me...

Tangible property in law is, literally, anything which can be touched, and includes both real property and personal property (or moveable property), and stands in distinction to intangible property.
