Ever since I can remember I haven't been able to sleep on my back. In fact I even have trouble sleeping on my side most of the time. I usually need to sleep on my stomach.
I was wondering what's the easiest solution for this? The only times I've been able to sleep on my back were times that I was under the influence of alcohol.

And don't say the solution is to get drunk every night :p

a different mattress for one, i find a softer mattress (not firm) is more conducive to back sleeping, and also it helps to put a small pillow under your knees and elevate the pillow under your head a bit

i learned to sleep like this the hard way after going face first thru a car windshield in a traffic accident - slept on a hospital bed that way for 3 months and have always slept the same since, which is fine since it's the healthiest way to sleep for your spine and neck

Sleeping on your stomach shouldn't be a "problem" unless you're in prison. Why fix what isn't broken?

like Boztech said, it's usually the healthiest way to sleep for the spine and neck.

I know it's not really a problem, I wanted to be able to sleep on my back just so I could see.

Actually the same case with me and also i sleep without a pillow.
I can't sleep till i get this position though i always tried to sleep on my side cuz it's the healthiest position.
I will consult a doctor for this cuz i,like you, can't find the solution.

Wont fall asleep on my stomach, will pass out on my back only to wake up about an hr later no matter what, right side I'll just lay there and not fall asleep, left side Im out like a light. My sides switch every once in awhile but normally only when I sleep in a new place, I've never claimed I'm normal :)

Sleeping on your front isn't good for your back. It hyper extends your back, your hips will tilt forwards if you sleep on your stomach...

I can't sleep on my back either. I can't sleep on my right side either since I hurt my shoulder about 4months ago. I can only sleep on my left side.

who sleeps on their back anyways? That's so stiff and uncomfotable.

Most people sleep on their sides or on their stomach or somewhere in between. You're the majority.
