Can't sign into GFWL...

GFWL has been telling me in-game that something is either wrong with my connection, or that the GFWL service is down, so I'm not able to sign into GFWL.

In the GFWL application, it says my credentials are incorrect, which isn't true, since I can sign in on MSN with them just fine...

Any tips?

Same here, GFWL just doesn't work properly for me either. I'll know to avoid GFWL games in the future but sometimes you don't know a game is crippled with it when you're buying it online.

I really don't know why some people have so much trouble with GFWL. It has always worked perfectly for me.

Don't buy GFWL titles would be a good start.

Considering two of the best RTS games of the past 10 years use GFWL, that is not a very viable solution :(

(Even if GFWL is a POS that should be shot)

Because if it didn't happen to you, it couldn't possibly happen?

I found lots of evidence of widespread trouble with GFWL when I went online looking for a fix for the trouble I was having with it. I avoid GFWL, unless the game is a $5 bargain bin buy. It adds nothing for me, except another point of failure.

Sadly, for the OP, avoidance is the best solution, though not the one he really wants....

Unfortunately that will cut down on your available titles considerably.
I have several games on Steam that didnt even use it, then when Steam had that major overhaul recently they added GFWL to several of my favorite games. Now I dont like them as much. I HAD to install it for Dawn of War 2, and eventually many of of my games locked in to it for some strange reason.
And even worse is the THQ/Relic background program that some of my games now mysteriously require.
Oh, and that fucking YuPlay program needed for Wings of Prey.

FUCK THEM ALL!!!!! They add absolutely nothing and screw up otherwise fine software.

Dawn of War II and Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising.

I shouldn't really have to post that but there you go :)

Technically those are the same game.

But yes, best RTS recently released. At least the one I've had the most fun with since Starcraft. So I put up with GFWL to play it.

What OS? Make sure your firewall isn't blocking it. I had to add it as an exception in Win7 before I could connect.

I've been buying GFWL games for ages now, and it had worked flawlessly...until now.

I'm still not quite willing to join the anti-GFWL games camp. I can still sign into my GFWL profiles and play games, and my saves still work...just no achievements lol. I think the cause may have been a xbox 360 controller driver I replaced (weird huh?). I'll try putting that back to normal and see what happens.

UPDATE: Fixed it:

UPDATE 2: Apparently....I didn't fix it. The GFWL application itself is now able to log in, but games now tell me that I may be trying to connect with an incompatible network card...
