Ok I have my sharing on my setup on my Win2K for the HD's and the Printer. Everytime I try to open the resources on my Win98se machine I get a popup window asking for a password. I checked and re-checked, I don't have a password requirement setup in the win2K machine. what gives?

I bet that share name is something like "ICS$". I can't remember it because it's been too long since I last encountered this problem.
What you need to do is create a user on your Win2000 machine that has the same username/password pair as your network-accessing user on Windows 98, and that should solve your problem.
Create as many user/pass pairs as the users on Windows 98 that need to access the network shares of Win2k.

ok, i just have to create the user/password acount in Win2K? I don't have to be logged in (on the Win2K machine) as the user trying to access the resource?

"Authenticating" with the 2K is basically what's happening with your created user. The user isn't really logging into it from 98 (that would happen only if you had a domain setup), but it's being checked to see if it has permissions to access the share.
