Can't set refresh rate with ATI AIW

My refresh rate seems to be stuck at 60hz, and thus i'm slowly going blind. I've got win2k. I go to control panel, open up display, go to settings, click the advanced button. But then when I try to click on the "monitor" tab, the control panel freezes up. If I remember correctly, that's where you set the refresh rate, right? So this is with the ATI all-in-wonder, using the new 6043 drivers. Any suggestions?
