I am building a Pc for my girlfriend based on Intel 530J Prescott and the ASUS P5GD2 Premium board...the case is that I can't set the DVD-RW in UDMA mode no matter what I set in bios.
I am using Bios 1009
Any ideas..maybe a driver that forces the UDMA mode??
I have checked the NEC DVD-RW in my AMD system and runs without problem in UDMA mode 2...What happens???

1) if you're running a fancy l33t rounded cable, try a nice normal flat 80-wire ATA/100 cable

and

2) go to Device Manager and do an Uninstall of the ATA channel that the drive is attached to, or its parent controller, and then restart the system and let it get re-detected, then try to DMA it.
