Got a friend of mine a few hundred miles away who recently had his dialup (it's the only option available) changed from EV1.NET to PeoplePC.
Using Outlook Express or Outlook he was able to send JPG's with EV1.NET but is no longer able to do so since the change to PeoplePC. Even after hours on the phone with PPC Tech Support, confirming all settings were correct, he is still unable to send. The file will attach but the message will not send. He gets an instant error but I don't have a copy of the message - yet.
Tech Support insists that they are not blocking attachments. He can send text or other files with no problem, but JPG and GIF or other image files won't send.
The only thing he says was changed was the POP and SMTP lines. He uses the PC for email and very basic (slow) surfing.
Anyone else hear of something like this or know what settings to check in Outlook. He says it won't send with Outlook or Outlook Express so I'm thinking it must be in the server side, although they insist they aren't blocking anything and that his settings are correct.
I use Eudora so I'm not up to speed on Outlook or O-Express. Anyone heard of this before? I Googled and most hits were in regard to dumped attachments on the receiving end, which is not where his trouble is.
Any ideas?
