Can't Send JPG's in Outlook using People PC

Got a friend of mine a few hundred miles away who recently had his dialup (it's the only option available) changed from EV1.NET to PeoplePC.

Using Outlook Express or Outlook he was able to send JPG's with EV1.NET but is no longer able to do so since the change to PeoplePC. Even after hours on the phone with PPC Tech Support, confirming all settings were correct, he is still unable to send. The file will attach but the message will not send. He gets an instant error but I don't have a copy of the message - yet.

Tech Support insists that they are not blocking attachments. He can send text or other files with no problem, but JPG and GIF or other image files won't send.

The only thing he says was changed was the POP and SMTP lines. He uses the PC for email and very basic (slow) surfing.

Anyone else hear of something like this or know what settings to check in Outlook. He says it won't send with Outlook or Outlook Express so I'm thinking it must be in the server side, although they insist they aren't blocking anything and that his settings are correct.

I use Eudora so I'm not up to speed on Outlook or O-Express. Anyone heard of this before? I Googled and most hits were in regard to dumped attachments on the receiving end, which is not where his trouble is.

Any ideas?

First thing to check is IF they have a Limit on File Size attachments & wether or not his images are too big, in terms of file size.
The next thing would be to place the image file inside an archive with Winzip or Winrar .. then try to send it and see if the
archive and the photo arrive ok ... of course, people at both ends need to know how to work with Winzip or Winrar

He has tried sending from web interface and all attachments load and send fine. I'll ask him about the JPG size in Outlook.

There may be a user setting in Outlook to limit the size and\or type of file it will send. I never heard of it but then again I don't use Outlook that much.

Thanks!

It could also be a setting in your Antivirus that is stopping it .. try disabling email scan in
the AV Program and see if it works then

You'll likely get the answer much faster if you post the exact wording and source of that "instant error message".
