Can't Send Any Emails out!!! PLEASE HELP

I have 2 email account and I can receive email, browse internet and everything but my IE6 or netscape won't send out any emails. I believe it has to do with my cable/dsl router. I called my ISP csr but no help. When I connect my computer directly without the router, i can send out but not with the router. Is there any way around this? Thanks tons!
