can't seem to o/c past 800 on Duron 650 (defaults to 500)

I'm using an MSI K7T Pro2A motherboard and I can't get my Duron 650 past 800.
If I turn the multiplier up to anything past x8, it posts with "Athlon 500" and then doesn't give me the speed I want. I'm hoping to hit 900+ so if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. BTW, my processor is unlocked and I'm using an Alpha PA6035 (sufficient cooling I hope). Thanks.

MORE VOLTAGE. That could be the problem. Your cpu cooling is definitely sufficient so that is ruled out as the problem. Update your bios, and try more voltage.

I guess I could try more voltage...thats one thing I haven't tried.
my processor does heat up a little too much though, for some reason my HSF isn't doing a very good job.
Even at 800 mhz it gets to 113F and shuts down every so often.
