the chipset that the xp333 is based on (the new revision of the ali magik) is just slightly slower then the kt266a chipset... now with the kt333 hitting the street they are going to be even faster
edit... after i posted i realized i didnt really answer your question 🙂
the xp333 is a good board, but i would pick a kt266a based board over a ali magik
the kt333 boards are so new its to early to say much about them, but the reviews i have read show it has an aditional performance gain (even if you dont use pc2700 ram)
It all depends on the memory module.
What module is on your memory stick?
Samsung?
Hynix?
Micron?
Nanya?
To get PC-2700/DDR 333 performance, your memory must run at 6.5 nano-seconds or LESS.
If you have the right stuff ... the Iwill XP-333 or XP-333-R is the way to go.
The "R" denotes IDE RAID functionality.
The Via KT333 chipset is so RARE at this point (and will be over-shadowed by the KT333"A" and the KT400) that you should WAIT a little bit for a VIA solution.
Go with the Ali Magik 1 version "C" chipset (Iwill XP333 and Iwill XP333-R) or WAIT ... for a while ... for a MATURE and feature rich
product to develop.
