Can't seem to connect my new ADSL

Someone knows the solution to this one? I've installed my ADSL card with the correct driver. I've put a filter on the phoneline. And my ADSL IS connected (I get an up- and downstream rating + I can see when I try to login that packets are being send and received). However I can not login. I've tried several times, even used a friends connection, it just doesn't work. I get Error 645 each time I try the 'dail up'. The strange thing is my login has been activated (I can check this with the provider and on there website). The statitics on the website of the provider show that I made contact with the providers server, but I didn't get or send anything from it.

Open up a DOS window (Start->Run, then type command). Try to ping something by IP number and see if it responds. If it does then try pinging the same thing by name and see if it responds. If it doesn't you just need to enter the correct DNS.

It seems like you are using a PPPoE coonection. The only thing I can think of is if you install VPN for win 9x? in your networking properties..

Well if you put the filter on the phoneline coming to the PC, like your post appears to have said, that explains it. All other lines, not that one.
