Can't seem to be able to change my multiplier on my board

Hi,
I have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe rev 1.xx with the newest BIOS revision (1007)
I have a barton 2500+ and from what i heard, it is unlocked.
So I thought all i needed to do is just put the multiplier higher ... but the board doesn't seem to change anything when i do so.
Like for example, I had it running at 11.5x166 and it still registered as 1.83Ghz or 11x166. I don't really have great ram to overclock my FSB with ...
Can anybody help ?

The Barton may indeed be locked. What's the date on the square? Anything past week 39 except for the Mobiles are locked.

Just to add a insult to injury, I have had a week 36, and a week 37 come locked :-(

I would bet its locked...
