Can't see Windows 2000 box

I have a network with a PC (Windows XP pro), a Mac (OS 10.3), an HP printer and an HP plotter. They all work fine together; I am able to see the Mac and vice versa. I am trying to pull files from an old Windows 2000 PC. Right now I am not able to see it from the XP box nor can I see anything from the W2000 box. I am using a Dlink DUB-E100 to connect this box via USB to the RJ45 network. The network is built around a Dlink DI-624 with a Dlink DGS-1008D switch.

I am able to go online from the W2000 box, I pinged from the CMD DOS line sucessfully, and IPCONFIG yeilded 192.168.0.103 (a number sequence I was expecting) with the balance of the information matching what I get from the XP box.

I have searched through System Properties for My Computer and run through the Network Wizard (placing the W2000 box in "WORKGROUP". Still no luck.

Any thoughts?

You may have to turn off 'simple file sharing' on the XP pro box. The Mac will have similar settings I expect.

I do have NIS firewall; but it allows traffic for 192.168.x.x addresses so I don't think that is interfering?
ezlan.net is down right now.
Not sure where to turn off "simple file sharing"?
