Not sure if this is a 'Blind-Eye' or a 'Tin-Ear', or just plain indifference to the population.

Read BOTH articles before commenting - and think about what is being considered:

Voters Upset over Gas Prices

Not Outcry About Lobby Scandals

Maybe the voter no longer trusts the polititian and feels there is no need to talk to them about issues,
since they feel it will be either ignored of dismissed as trivial nonsense.
I don't feel that the Polititians in my area give a damn about the Citizen Voter, when Corporate America is bankrolling their scams.

First off, yes America has about a 15 minute attention span when it comes to elections politics,
and the GOP is betting the farm that all the focus will be on the cost of fuel and nobody will notice
that they are continuing with the politics of lobby money to gain leverage in the November Elections.

Congress cannot focus on more than one thing at a time, not ability whatsoever to multi-task - that's walk and chew gum at the same time.
They're betting that the voters will be even more stupid at the next election cycle than they were at the last one.
So their effort is one to appease 'Thoothless' Joe Sixpack and give him a few bucks for his Budweiser -
that way he won't notice the fox in the hen house stealing his chickens.

How else can a polititian take a $ 160,000 a year poverty level Washington job and pocket over a million $$ a year.
Anyone who votes for ANY incumbent should be ashamed of themselves for being a part of the problem and avoiding the solution.

Even in a district where an incumbent runs unopposed, a smart grassroots organization would feild a 'write-in' candidate to offer some choice.
Too many incumbents are unopposed, and when this situation manifests itself there should at least be
some mechanism to deny these candidates control that they don't deserve.
Putting 'Unaceptable' on the ballot would give a voter the option of showing their disaproval,
and if 'Unaceptable' wins - that candidate is disqualified from that position and it automatically invokes
a special election to fill the vacancy with fresh blood - disqualified not allowed to run in the special election.

'of the people, for the people and by the people' - that's the Constitution.
It doesn't list Corporations, Lobbists, and Career Polititians in there.
