Cant see some images on a lot of webpages..

I have this problem, I?ve had it for a couple of months now and I just gave up on fixing it? Basically it?s this: I can?t see SOME images on the internet. I?m able to see about 9 out of 10 images I encounter. Once in a while, I simply don?t see images. It has nothing to do with the format because I can see images of all formats. Also, I tried EVERY single browser out there to see if it was a problem with Explorer, but I get the same problem with every other browser? firefox, mozilla, netscape, opera, etc? For example, ALL the screenshots on gamespot.com, I can?t see them? they are all simple jpegs? so not being able to see a particular format is out of the question because on any other site I can see jpegs just fine? sometimes I can?t? same thing with gifs and bmps? and the images I don?t see are not randomly occurring, it?s always the exact same images on certain sites that I can?t see. Sometimes on a website I could be able to see 95% of the images on them, but there could be 1 or 2 images I don?t see? and if I refresh the page, it?s the exact same 2 images that I still can?t see, but they are jpegs just like all the others on the site in question. This isn?t a major problem, because like I said, I see about 9/10 images fine, it?s just really annoying when a friend links me to a picture and I can?t see it. Anyone got any idea what this problem could be? And how to fix it? Thanks.

Only thing that comes to mind is to check your hosts file for entries that could be causing the problems. It's a long shot though.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Edit the file with notepad and see if there's any entries entered other than the default localhost one.

I'd also recommend checking your computer for spyware.
