Ok, this is starting to drive me crazy.....

My computer is a 2k Pro connected via RJ45 to wireless hub.

Other computer is a laptop sporting XP Home, wireless connection.

Internet is working just fine for us both. We can see each other just fine (we can ping each other fine also) but the laptop cannot see the printer that I have shared on the other computer. Both have Client for MS Networks installed and File and Printer Sharing For MS Networks also. The printer is shared with no password.

The specific problem that is happening is that when I try to access the computer from the laptop, it is poping up with enter user name and password. No problem, I enter my username and password but it gives me the message "\\Computer1 is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the network administrator of this server to find out if you have network permissions. Login failure: the user has not been granted the requested login type at this computer."

I have even tried using the administrator user name and password but I get the same message. Obviously I am missing something here. Does anyone have any idea what? If you need any more info, just let me know.

I found the problem.

It was an option in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Local Security Policy/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment/Access this computer from the network. I needed to add the user account in there.

Thanks for the help.

not likely. more likely was just a time thing. windows can take a log time to locate resources. best to save a shortcut to them, or search for them by name in networkneighborhood. i always have to with my laptop rather than wait,.
