Ok i have a Promise Fasttrack tx2000 controller with 2 40 gig ide drives on it.
I have no other HDs in this system. The drives are configured as a mirror.
Am i supposed to see these drives in my computer BIOS? because I dont.
If so why do yo think i cant see them. I see them on the ide controler on the motherboard.
I have jumpered them CS and master also.

On most set-ups they aren't seen in the BIOS but if they are engaged in the BIOS, upon Boot they are read and displayed just before the OS kicks in.

You are not going to see them in the BIOS, since they are not connected to one of the regular ID connectors on the motherboard. You're going to 'see' the drives listed in the 'bios' for the RAID controller. If you hit the key (I forget which one) while booting, you can enter the configuration program for the RAID controller, and you'll see the drive(s) listed.

If you boot into DOS or another OS (such as Windows), the mirrored drives will be 'seen' as one single drive.
