Can't see my toolbars in Ubuntu!

I installed Ubuntu and The size of my desktop is off by about half an inch. Adjuesting screen resolution doesn;t work, as the adjustment is relative and only increases resolution witht he toolbars still not visible. I fixed this problem in Windows using the Nvidia control panel in th e"resize HDTV Desktop" option.

I tried "nvidia settings" in Ubuntu, but I can only adjuest resolution which as I said is relative and doesn't solve the problem. Is there any method in Linux similar to the "resize HDTV Desktop" feature in the nvidia control panel in windows?

set it to do not use, if you set it to ntfs it will, iirc, format it to ntfs. if you "dont use" it, then when you setup your ubuntu system and boot into it the windows drive will just get automatically mounted
