Cant see files in the recycle bin - windows 7

Ive tried pretty much everything i found in google, ive even done a reinstall but it hasent solved the problem.

Im almost certain is has to do with permissions or ownership because ive been messing with those settings trying to get them back to default, i have 4 data drives and i think they may be causing the persistence of this issue since a reinstall didnt solve it. I can move files to the bin i can then empty the bin, but i cant see whats in the bin, they wont restore either. No idea what to do next... any ideas?

Think ive cracked it, this is really in case anyone else has this issue and nothing else works.

$Recycle.bin was not appearing on the data drives which is what caused this issue. It was not appearing because "Authenticated users" wasent in the permission list, it needs to be there, i just copied the permissions from my other desktop and its all working fine now. I dont know why this fixed it but it did.

Lesson learned, dont screw with permissions unless you know what the fook you are doing
