Can't see editing tools while posting. Only after posting can you edit and get edit tools

I searched for this and did not see anything about this.

Is there a soft switch somewhere to get the edit tools to appear while doing original post?

Hell, I even just went back to edit it and I get nothing but a bare window with a title bar "Edit Post by hal2kilo"

What exactly are you referring too? There is an "edit tools" bar above the text input box whether you're making a post or making a new thread.

I' m reply right now and see nothing in this little window. And more options does not bring the edit bar or whatever you want to call it up.

Rather than continuing to play this guessing game, can you please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Okay. I think I found the problem. At least in IE 11, do not add this website to the compatibility view list.
