I recently downloaded something and there was a virus, but then I cleaned it and I think it may have deleted some system file. Now, for example, when I try to run something I get the error:
C:\Other\CPU-Z\cpuz.exe
Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed.
Also some give this error
C:\Other\DivX\DivX Converter\Converter.exe
The parameter is incorrect.
This doesn't happen for all of my programs. I think randomly they just don't work. I tried doing a system restore but that didn't work. Also, right now my anti-virus broke so I can't use it.
I also already ran System File Checker, and that doesn't seem to help at all. However, I'm not totally sure if my CD is working. I'm going to be trying to get another copy to see if I can get it to work.
I've also run looked in event viewer for any errors and this is what I've found.
Faulting application svchost.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module , version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.
Faulting application nod32.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module nod32.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000003.
I was thinking that this might be caused by svchost.exe failing, and screwing with the dll's. Does anyone know what else this might be and how might I fix it if it is svchost's problem?
