So I upgraded to a 7900GT and I cant run FEAR on 1280x1024 res now.. My monitor's a ViewSonic VX924, it supports 1280x1024 @ 75MHz..it's one of the best gaming LCDs so I have no idea why one of the best games dont work on full res.. Im using the latest nVidia drivers too (8456)..FEAR can only run on 1152x784 and that is the MAX! Other games like Oblivion or CSS can run 1280.. so whats the problem?

Does dropping down the refresh rate help? You should do it anyways, because REFRESH RATES ON LCDS ARE NOT THE SAME THING ON CRTS.

IIRC, the game doesn't even support 1280X1024, haven't played it for awhile...but I thought the closest was 1280X960. You could also just force it to 1280X1024, check this out , its for widescreen gaming, but I'm sure you can add your values in as well to make it work.

And that 75Hz refresh is actually supported by that monitor natively (yes??), so i dont think that would be the problem, but its worth a shot since it's not painfully time-consuming to do.
