everytime i try to run 3dmark06, i get the following error:

system info error: Wbem not connected MO_WMI::CWMIObject::connect to wbem

i upgraded to the newest nV drivers and same error

any ideas? Rig in sig

Isn't it obvious? You need to connect your MO_WMI::CWMIObject to wbem! 🙂

Seriously though, do you have AA/AF enabled in your global driver settings or anything else 'non-default'?

that the best thing i have heard all day.

I have problems running it as well, except my error is "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_28.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

Well, reinstalling didn't help. I chose not to install DX9.0c since I already have it(checked with dxdiag).

See this for more info: http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27565

You need to reinstall DirectX9 with the version included.

I deleted the 3dmark installer. Is there a link to the latest dx9.0c? windowsupdate doesn't list it.

You probably need to enable Windows Management Instrumentation (doesn't that sound like menstruation?).

Type in a command prompt, sc config wmi start= demand and sc config winmgmt start= demand, exactly as in the bold, and then see if it runs. What likely happened is you disabled these services per BlackViper's recommendations. Well, sometimes they're needed. 3DMark uses WMI to retrieve information about your system.

Edit: OK, I disabled WMI and got the same error you did. This works to fix it. 😀 The same thing can be accomplished by going in Admin Tools->Services, and setting WMI and WMI Driver Extensions to Manual start-up type rather than Disabled.
