Can't resize partitions with Vista installer?

Is it not possible to resize partitions with the Vista installer? I know it's possible to "expand" an already created partition and also create new partitions from unpartitioned space, but it doesn't seem possible to decrease the size of existing partitions into unpartitioned space. It's possible on the XP installer, I'm not sure why it's not on Vista? Unless I'm missing something?

Umm, last I checked it wasnt possible to shrink partition sizes from XP (installer or with Windows). It's only possible to extend a partition.

If you want to shrink the partition you'd need an application like partition magic.

You're right, I was thinking of the Ubuntu installer. It can resize partitions. Forget this thread.
