Can't Reset Router

I tried changing my router firmware from DD-WRT to Tomato today, just wanted to try Tomato and it seems I either bricked my router, but I don't think thats the case because when I press the reset button when I start the router it goes into the firmware restore mode.

But I've tried holding the reset button for a minute while the power is on, holding it while the power is on, unplugging it, and then plugging it back in. That also failed. Not sure whats the problem.

Anyone have any similar issues? The router is an ASUS WL500G Premium V2. If anyone had any similar issues help please.

Well, messing with the router, I can't even ping it. That is a big problem I think.

The thing is, not all the lights are on, only the ones which are plugged in, usually if it's bricked they are all on.

If the router is in firmware restore mode as you said, use the utility in my link to make the router operational again.

Okay,

I tried the firmware restore utility, and it uploads the firmware says it does it successfully and then please wait for the router to be rebooted.

I still cannot get 192.168.1.1 working, what could be the issue?
