Can't renew IP

When I try to set up my internet connection on my new Ultra-D rig, I get this error that "Windows cannot renew IP address". I even tried using the CD the ISP gave and me, and STILL got the cannot renew IP error. I called the customer service and they said that "it was probably the drivers" but the guy sounded like he didn't know what he was talking about. Is there a wayto fix this? Could it be because I used an XP install CD from Gateway, and that it screwed up the IP? It's been frustrating trying to get this internet set up.

Did you install all of the lan drivers on the DFI CD?

yep....did everything. tried repairing too....couldn't renew

Check your network connection settings, make sure that you're obtaining your IP from the right place, whether dynamic or static.
