Can't remove zipdisk from Iomega external drive!!

Please advise. Dell just sent me an Iomega external zip drive so I should be able to transfer my data from my Compaq system. They additionally sent me a few Iomega 250 mb zipdisks.

But when I tried inserting an Iomega zipdisk into my Compaq zipdrive, it ejected it (apparently not compatible).

As a result, an alarm went off in my head, because I thought that my [old] 100 mb Fuji zipdisk wouldn't be compatible with the new drive either.

So I tried inserting the Fuji zipdisk into the new Iomega zip drive, and it accepted it.

But now there's a new problem. I can't get the disk out of there! (It's not connected to the new system yet, because I'm not ready for that step yet. I was just testing it to see if, when the time comes, it would be transferrable.

So what do I do now? I'm so sick of all the non-compabilility problems designers create for people! :frown:

Yea, zip disks weren't that reliable. One got stuck in mine before. Try rebooting and using the software eject (click the drive in My Comp and make it eject). See if that does anything.

While on the topic, zip100 drives only read zip100 disks, while zip250's read both zip100 disks and zip250 disks. And also, usb keychains are more reliable, if you need a better solution.

Thanks for the info about the zip250's reading both types of disks (you took the words out of my mouth, because I was about to ask that)

About the USB keychain, I suppose that's another term for "memory key" which I had ordered from Dell. It's a 128mb USB memory key.

As for the zipdisk ejection, I resolved that - I decided to try contacting Iomega via chat & they directed me to a site which gave a pinhole ejection method, using paper clip. That worked.

Thanks!
