Cant remove programs...can add but not remove...

Im setting up a chepo system for my son to surf the web on and for sum stupid reason it wont let me delete anything on the HDD..i go into add/remove programs and wile uninstalling the entire computer freezes...so i went into safe mode and tried there and removed the program from add/remove but the files r still on the HDD so i tried deleting them manually and it says "cannot delete files access denied please make shur the media is not full or write protected."

Its a fresh new 100% copy of windows xp...

Why are you using XP these days???

It sounds like the HDD may have some errors, or you may have acquired some malware already. Or there are permission problems.

Why is he using XP? Because he said it's just for light gaming and surfing the web. I wish Windows 8 was just an updated, more secure and faster Windows XP.

That is precisely why he should be using 7 or 8. Preferably 64-bit.

XP just attracts malware and exploits.
