Can't remove my heatsink!!!

I just bought a Global Win FOP-32-1, but the old heatsink that was attached to my motherboard is very hard to un clip. I have never done this before. There is one end of the clip jutting out and the other end is attached to the center lug. What I did was I tried to pull up the end that was jutting out, I used quite a bit of force but it didn't budge at all. I didn't do anything else because I was worried about damaging the CPU. Any advice would be much appreciated.

ok, ready.

all you need is a relatively thin flat head screw-driver.

you want to stick it in, push it down til its at the bottom of the board, then push it OUT, using the Heatsink for leverage,

I did this a couple of days ago with my volcano, which also has a death clip, and was very scared cuz of all the stories of dead birdies. once i pushed the clip out it came off like a dream with no problems whatsoever.

tell me if that helps,

-Sam
