Can't remove entries from Add/Remove programs

I had some programs that couldn't be removed from the add/programs list, there would be the remove button, i would click it and nothing would happen. I then tried Add/Remove Manager and that just made things messier since the entries would still be there but the remove button is now gone. any bright ideas?

I think that info is under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall in the registry. As usual, a backup is a good idea before tinkering.

I took a look there as well, they're not under the registry. The add/remove manager look inside the registry and I delete all the files that mentioned the programs and this is how i got to where i am. 🙁

they should be there (in the reg key)if the programs are there. sometimes I use to use tweak ui to get rid of those invalid entries .

also I suppose you could reinstall the programs one by one (using the same default paths) and attempt to use the uninstaller that came with each program to try uninstallation again hopefully properly this time.

Look at the entries (keys) that have a GUID (a string in the form of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{0EFC6259-3AD8-4CD2-BC57-D4937AF5CC0E}
This would be Symantec Antivirus Client on my compteur
