airpcap is a driver/library to allow better sniffing on wireless for Windows machines. winpcap is a tcpdump-a-like for windows. Any 802.11 device should work...

AirPcap Nx, 802.11a/b/g/n USB Adapter and Software Distribution? Damn that's expensive. 😛

I am glad it is expensive, the high cost helps curb proliferation; keeping it out of the hands of some potential wrong do'ers. .

Everything that can do can be done for absolutely free assuming you already have a wireless card... otherwise it's just cost of the wireless card.

I've got no less than 3 USB adapters (maybe more, haven't tried my prism or zydas devices in a while) , 3-5 PCI adapters, unknown numbers of mini-pci/mini-pcie adapters, and a few routers that can sniff and/or inject wifi packets.

EDIT: Still looking for a good a/b/g/pre-n device for a reasonable price with a decent chipset... 😉 It's for a project.
