What's that movie that has the clown and all the kids?

There are the kids and they have weird things happen to them?

I remember this movie from being a kid and it scarred me. I think they all fight a spider at the end, that part made the movie sorta lame but the rest was kinda freaky to me at that age.

Anyone know what I am talking about.

edit: as cliché as this may sound, the book was better. actually the movie wasnt bad either until they got to the end and fought that giant spider. a part of me was always hoping for an alternate ending. anything but a freaking giant spider.
