can't redeem ms points

I've bought plenty of points in the past through Amazon online instant codes, but for some reason tonight when I try to redeem the code (tried both through the xbox menu and xbox.com) I keep getting the error: "An error has occurred during the transaction. Please try again later"

its been about 4 hours now and still can't redeem (want to play Limbo). Anyone know if its something on my end or if MS Live is fubared?

If you can't redeem on the console, trying redeeming through xbox.com. It might just be a hiccup in the console servers or something and it may work there. If not that MS is having problems I guess :(

lol thanks Kabob, such a helpful guy.

I tried redeeming on both console and computer, still neither work 12 hours later. I opened a ticket with their support, hopefully it gets resolved... I want to give them money so I suspect it will.

Yeah, go through Amazon customer support first, hopefully they'll get it resolved. I mean, I suppose it is possible they generated an invalid code or something.

Then it would have said the code was invalid, not An error has occurred during the transaction.

called xbox live support and apparently my account has been locked since April due to "suspicious activity". 45 minutes on the phone and 2 reps later I'm told I have to wait up to 3 days before I'll receive a call back from "upper management" to get my account unlocked.
No one could quite tell me why it was locked, or why adding a MS points card I ALREADY BOUGHT is such big hassle. frustrating.
