This is the wierdest thing. My wife can't get to classmates.com at IP 65.243.133.80 I can ping this IP and even complete a successful tracert. I turned off my software firewall (ZA) and made sure that I had no restricted sites listed in IE security settings. Another computer off the same router can access the website fine which leads me to belive it is a setting on my computer. I just don't know what setting it could be. I will try another web browser like Mozilla and see what happens.

Arg...😕

it might be your hosts file, I forgot where it's located, just search for a file name hosts. take a look in that and delete everything in there, and save it. that will fix it

I did a system wide search for hosts.* and did not receive a response. Perhaps it's called something else or is not the problem...thanks for the reply however!

Star,

the file is called "hosts", no quotes. there is no extension on it. It's located in c:/windows/system32/driver/etc for winxp, not sure about other versions of windows.

Star,

make sure you check "advanced options" and select "search system/hidden/subdirs" if youre using xp/2k otherwise it wont find the file

I found it and was able to correct the problem. I remember editing this file about a year ago with common sites that offer pop up ads...I just couldn't remember where the heck the dang thing was. Thanks!
