For a while now Tapatalk has been offered "free" on Getjar. It was a free version that was basically just a time based copy, and several versions behind the full one from the market. Well it's no longer free, and now whenever I try to get on a forum it says something regarding "this version has expired, please purchase... yadda yadda". That's fine, it's about time I buy the full version. Unfortunately the market thinks I've already "purchased" this app, but when I click to install it says something about not being able to install because I haven't yet purchased it.

What gives? It says I purchased it, but then when I try to download it says I HAVEN'T purchased it... so it actually does know I haven't bought it yet. I've uninstalled the other version, and have used a root explorer to try and see if anything tapatalk related was still on the phone and it doesn't seem so. Somebody had a similar problem with another app and said if you uninstall updates from the market, it'll fix such issues. I did that and no dice :(

I just want the full app now, but they won't take my money. Any suggestions?

I had this exact same issue with a trial version of Tasker. I contacted Google Market support; they confirmed that it was a known issue with the Market and that they would look into it. Two weeks passed and every time I sent an email asking for an update I got a canned response that they were looking into it.

People on various forums suggested a number of ways to fix this, including uninstalling and manipulating the Market data with Titanium Backup. None of it worked for me.

I ended up having to buy the non-Market version directly from the developer. Very annoying.

Since you're rooted, you can try breaking the market link using Titanium Backup. Long press on the app and click "Detach From Market" and it should break any links Tapatalk has with the Play Store.

install it on another device and extract/copy the apk over?

:hmm: Actually just the first half of what you said may only be necessary. I may not even have to buy from another device, just use my PC and buy from the market that way. Assuming it's just my phone that's not right and not the entire market account, I might be able to buy on the PC and then it'll let me download on the phone without the error.

If I still had the app installed, this would be doable. I uninstalled it though during my trouble shooting so now have no "legal" way of getting it back.

This was one of the things I tried when I had this issue with Tasker. Never worked for me.

Doesnt work that way. Market is synced throughout all devices. If your phone reports that it can't install something, the web browser market also prevents you from installing.

If your problem is anything like mine, you are out of luck. Recently the market on my HD2 was accidentally updated. Since then, I haven't been able to buy any new apps, my phone is listed as incompatible.

I can only buy or download free apps if it's hosted elsewhere.

Yes it did. When I brought up the site on my desktop it let me buy it and select my device, then installed itself without issue.

Huh...

Guess I don't have the same problem. Is it all apps you're having a problem with or just certain ones?

Email the Tapatalk devs. Explain the situation. See if they'll email you the APK.

Awesome contribution to the thread...

Well...I recieved a powerful warning from powerful Virge telling me not to crapping this expensive forum. I guess this forum thread might not meant for me as deaf person how I view or feeling toward Google Android OR maybe my english grammer is not perfect to make him understand. I am not sure because I am surprised with his powerful warning message. Oh well....It is like I am not allowed to message on this thread.

Anyway enjoy your Google Android......
