WTF? This is for work too, so I need to get this done!

I have someone who emailed me several Word documents. They look fine on my screen, and in the print preview as well. But when I print it out, all I get is a thin line across the paper. That is it. The person who sent them to me said they are in Word 97 format, as they have always been.

I have word 2000 on Windows 2000. I tried to save the document as in RTF, but that did the same thing. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

if it looks fine on your screen, could it be a hardware problem?

is your printer able to print other word docs w/o problems?

try re-installing your printer driver...

Sounds like a printer problem. Reboot that printer (and the jet direct box that it is plugged into, if you are using one). You can also reinstall/update the printer drivers if you are not using the correct ones (a model number or two off). What does the Word document contain? Graphics? tables? Some of that stuff requires a Postscript printer (it should tell you) or it will not print out properly.
