I have a network of two computer set up via a cross over cable. I was able to install the printer drivers but whenever I try to print, my printer spooling program gives me an error "FAILED TO OPEN FILE" The printer is an epson stylus 400. Somebody please help me. thanks.

You have to install the printer driver on both Computer. Then enable the computer without the printer to see the first computer printer.

Yes I've already installed the driver on both computers and I can see the printer from the computer it's not attached to, it's only when I try to print from that computer that I get the error message, It prints fine from the computer it's connected to.
